What kind of organisation is Miss-Collect?

Miss-Collect is a consortium of Indian and Dutch partners, ranging from companies, organizations and NGO’s. All partners have different fields of expertise for the program. Where one has immense knowledge of the paper industry, the other has dedicated their work to combatting child labour.

Who can join Miss-Collect?

All are more than welcome to Join the Miss-Collect Community. Not only companies can join in our activities, but individuals that are willing to contribute as well.

What are the results from Miss-Collect's activities?

Co-creation is the way forward. By including the perspectives of the female waste-picker community, the consortium partners and other stakeholders, we believe Miss-Collect can achieve great changes.

What issues does Miss-Collect work on?

Miss-Collect works on a sustainable and child labour free wastepaper value chain. This positively impacts the female waste-pickers community who are working in the beginning of the value chain. Most children who work as waste-pickers are children of waste-pickers themselves. Child labour can be decreased by providing a perspective for the female waste-pickers and their families.

Where does the name 'Miss-Collect' stem from?

Miss-Collect stands for the female waste-pickers that are central to the project, since change starts with the women who collect the wastepaper. When the female waste-pickers receive a fair income and working conditions, self-sustainability will follow. Their lives will improve, lives of their families improve, the community, and so forward.
