The Great Planting Fest at Vidya Ghat

In the heart of GMPS Jakkur, a spirited group of 6th-grade students, under the guidance of their esteemed Headmaster, Mrs. Rukmini, embarked on a journey of discovery and sustainability with the Veggie4School curriculum. With excitement buzzing in the air, the students eagerly awaited the arrival of the day they had been eagerly anticipating for weeks.

As the vehicle carrying the precious cargo of seedlings arrived at the school gates, a wave of excitement swept through the student body. Rushing to greet the seedlings, each student approached with curiosity and wonder, inspecting the delicate leaves and sturdy stalks with keen interest. It was a moment of connection with nature, as they carefully selected seedlings of their favorite vegetables, their faces alive with enthusiasm.

Equipped with tools and guided by the expertise of the Garden Gurus, the students eagerly set to work, their hands digging into the rich soil with determination and purpose. With each pit dug and each growing pot carefully nestled into place, a promise was made – a promise to nurture and care for these young plants in the days to come.

Throughout the chapter, the students’ enthusiasm never waned. They embraced each lesson with open hearts and eager minds, soaking in the knowledge imparted by their teachers and the Garden Gurus. From learning about the importance of healthy soil mixtures to understanding the art of square foot gardening, every concept was met with genuine interest and excitement.

As the final seedlings found their new homes in the wooden gardening boxes, a sense of pride filled the air. The students stood tall, knowing that they had played a part in something meaningful – something that would not only benefit their school but also the environment at large.

For the students of GMPS Jakkur, the Veggie4School curriculum was more than just a lesson in gardening; it was a journey of growth, discovery, and empowerment.
