Nurturing Curiosity and Environmental Stewardship

In the heart of Sanjeevini Nagar, where the sun casts its warmth upon eager minds, lies GHPS Sanjeevini Nagar, a beacon of education and growth. Here, amidst the bustling classrooms and vibrant corridors, students of the 6th and 7th grades embarked on a journey of discovery through the Veggie4School Programme’s Chapter 4: “From Seed to Sprout.

Under the guidance of their dedicated teacher, Mr. Raju, and the watchful eye of Headmaster Mr. Muniraju, a cohort of enthusiastic learners dove into the world of seeds with gusto. Among them were Adithya Kumar, Arjun Kamati, Gayathree R, and a host of others, each brimming with curiosity and eagerness to learn.

As the chapter unfolded, the classroom buzzed with excitement. Students delved into the intricacies of seed anatomy, unraveling the mysteries of seed coats, cotyledons, and food reserves. With hands-on activities and practical demonstrations, they witnessed the miracle of life as tiny seeds sprouted into vibrant green shoots.

The seed germination test became a highlight for the students of GHPS Sanjeevini Nagar. With unwavering determination, they meticulously folded seeds into tissue paper, ensuring the perfect conditions for germination. Armed with spray bottles and boundless enthusiasm, they eagerly awaited the emergence of new life, ready to calculate germination percentages with precision and pride.

But the impact extended beyond the confines of the classroom. Students embraced the lessons of sustainability and waste management with fervor, eagerly filling biodegradable “Growing Pots” with potting mixture and tenderly sowing vegetable seeds. With each action, they became stewards of the environment, nurturing life with care and compassion.

The introduction of the Plant Detective Journal sparked a newfound sense of curiosity among the students. With keen eyes and sharpened senses, they documented the daily growth of their plants, noting every change and anomaly with excitement. Through this journal, they forged a deeper connection with nature, becoming keen observers of the world around them.

As the weeks passed, the impact of Chapter 4 rippled through the halls of GHPS Sanjeevini Nagar. Students like Dhanwanth P Nair, Nythik K Maalage, and Vijay Gowda M K embraced their roles as guardians of the earth, cultivating not only plants but also a sense of responsibility towards the environment.
