HEADMASTER’S REFLECTION:

KPS Hebbal High School was an incredible journey for my classmates—Karthik, Santhosh, Uday, Yashwanth, Akshitha, and Ambika—and me. We spent five marvellous weeks transforming into eco-warriors, Compost Creators, and Garden Heroes! Thanks to our Guru’s guidance and our dedicated teachers, we discovered how even the smallest actions can make a significant impact, ranging from waste management to embracing gardening and healthy eating.  

CHAPTER 1: GROW YOUR WAY TO A GREENER FUTURE 
The Sorting Race was so much fun! It taught us how to separate waste correctly. I also enjoyed creating pots from recycled materials. My pot is now at home with a seed planted in it. 

Feedback: 

  • 🗑️ Enjoyment: 95% – The Sorting Race brought energy and excitement.
  • 🧠 Learning: 85% – Students understood waste segregation basics.
  • 🎨 Favourite Activity: Sorting Race & Pot Making (77%) – Combining competition and creativity worked well.
  • 🌱 Future Interest: 89% – Many students planned to share recycling tips at home. 

CHAPTER 2: FROM BELOW THE EARTH TO ABOVE THE SKY 
I was previously unaware of composting. We recently discovered how food scraps and leaves can transform into soil. My family has begun collecting kitchen scraps to try composting at home! 

Feedback: 

  • 🌿 Enjoyment: 92% – Hands-on composting activities engaged students.
  • 🌍 Learning: 87% – Composting principles were effectively conveyed.
  • 🌾 Favourite Activity: Compost Layers (78%) – Building layers sparked curiosity.
  • 🌟 Future Interest: 90% – Families expressed interest in composting. 

CHAPTER 3: UNVEILING THE MYSTERIES OF SEED GROWTH 
Planting seeds was the highlight of my week. Watching them grow felt enchanting. I named my sprout ‘Hope’ and monitored it daily until it produced leaves. 

Feedback:

  • 🌻 Enjoyment: 94% – Germination activities excited students.
  • 🌼 Learning: 88% – Understanding seed growth processes stood out.
  • 🌱 Favourite Activity: Sprout Observation (80%) – Daily growth was fulfilling.
  •  🌈 Future Interest: 91% – Students expressed interest in starting gardens. 

CHAPTER 4: THE GREAT PLANTING FEST 
We built trellises and planted vegetables in the garden. Working as a team to create something meaningful was fun, and I was proud of our accomplishments. 

Feedback: 

  •  🛠️ Enjoyment: 98% – Garden-building fostered collaboration and creativity.
  • 🌿 Learning: 93% – Students learned practical skills like trellis-making.
  • 🎨 Favourite Activity: Garden Grid Design (82%) – Problem-solving and teamwork stood out.
  • 🚀 Future Interest: 95% – Students wanted to replicate gardens at home. 

CHAPTER 5: FROM GARDEN TO THALI 
The Rainbow Thali activity enlightened me by allowing me to discover balanced meals. Decorating the plate and exploring flavours taught me how to eat more healthily. 

Feedback: 

  •  🍏 Balanced Diet Awareness: 90% – Students connected colourful meals to better health.
  • 🌿 Seed-Saving Interest: 84% – Students showed interest in saving seeds.
  • 🎨 Favourite Activity: Rainbow Thali Art (81%) – Creativity and education merged beautifully.
  •  👅 Taste Understanding: 88% – Exploring taste profiles was engaging. 

CLOSING THOUGHTS 

Closing Thoughts: Wow, these five weeks have transformed our lives! We’ve learned many fantastic practical skills, like sorting waste, planting seeds, and building gardens. Plus, we’ve become better leaders along the way! I’m so excited to share everything I’ve learned with my family. Together, we’re making notable, sustainable changes at home. This program has inspired us to keep enhancing our school and community planet!
